★★★★★ Another excellent read by Chris Lewando. Keep them coming!
‘Chris Lewando is an amazing writer, no matter what genre she chooses. She is a master at setting the mood, and excels at showing multiple shades of grey in a black and white issue. Chris always leaves me thinking.’
★★★★★ Wow
‘This blew me away! No rest for me weary. Dee's father gets captured, among so many twists going on at the same time. Mysteriously the biker, Greg, still happens to be around when everything looks haywire. Amazing action. Definitely can't wait for the next book!’
★★★★★ Great follow up
‘An amazing follow up to book one. The plot is still captivating. Vigilante justice is wrong; however, what can you do when law enforcement drags their feet, can’t do things fast enough, or are paid to look the other way. Who do you trust? I love the characters. We see Greg appearing and disappearing as is his normal routine. We watch Dee trying to figure out which direction her life should go. A rollercoaster of emotions. I can’t wait for book 3!’
★★★★★ Entertaining
‘Entertaining story. I enjoyed the believable, intriguing characters, the action and most of all the suspense. Great job.’
★★★★★ A thrill a second
‘I thought the first book, The Silence of the Children, was spectacular, and this book continues the fast paced, thrill-based writing as the first. Child abduction is a difficult topic, even more so because it isn’t fiction. In this book, Dee and her father break into a house looking for information and inadvertently rescue a 5-year-long abuse victim, Amy. Even though a kidnapper is caught, it is only the tip of the iceberg. Even more connections are made to Deirdre’s previous life. Two people are murdered and now they do not know who to trust. A worthwhile read that I could not put down.’
