BETWEEN THE COVERS
She’s on the run from her past. Now it might kill her. When a desperate act puts teenage runaway Jessie in the sights of both the police and a brutal drug gang, she’s thrust into the middle of a covert operation with no idea who to trust. Scarred by a trauma she won’t talk about, Jessie drifts closer to the edge—until DI Redwall steps in. He sees more than a lost cause. He sees a survivor. But when a violent murder pulls Jessie back into the spotlight, the question becomes chillingly clear: Is she a witness, a suspect… or the killer’s next target? Gritty, emotionally charged, and unflinchingly real, Jessie Running is a dark, gripping noir about trauma, survival, and the fight for a second chance—if it’s not already too late.
IN READERS’ WORDS
★★★★★ Keeps the Reader Intrigued. I received an ARC of this book through Hidden Gems, and it is probably the best I have received. The book is full of unique and interesting characters and their interactions are very realistic. Jessie is a very different protagonist. She is driven, but through much of the book the source of her issues is unknown. The plot is very different, and the entire story moves through well-described and beautiful scenes as the various people who come into Jessie's life while she is running leave their mark on her. I give this book my highest recommendation.'

'The well-developed characters and tight, fast-paced plotting is typical Lewando.'
'This book keeps you on the edge of your seat, with lots of twists and turns.'
