NOTES FROM A LIFE IN IRELAND

Garden Shed

When we came to Ireland we brought with us ten panels that had comprised a summer house my father had made many years previously. The panesl were in our shed for a long time, but as we worked the garden into something usable we decided to use the panels to create a shed.

We created a concrete base and built a back wall from blocks so the sides had three panels each and the front four panels. We put an overhang at the front to protect the doors from the weather.

The roof was created out of old pallets. Two layers of wood, one horizontal and the other vertical.

The roof was then felted. Later, we added some side struts to strengthen the two 'pillars' of wood at the front, and planted some climbing roses.
