NOTES FROM A LIFE IN IRELAND
New Downstairs Bedroom
This image is from when we were first able to use this room as a living area many years ago. Once the old kitchen had been changed into a living room it was time to change this tiny living room into a bedroom as my then 92-year-old mother was getting too frail to live on her own. The first job was to remove the little wood burner, and make the wall good. We capped the top of the chimney at the same time.

The first job was to cut a new window into the old wall, to make the room brighter. This window looks out onto the garden.

The window was inserted and the wall made good. There was an increditble amount of light in the room, and the new window looked out over the garden.

Then the new carpet, and a wood-clad ceiling... and Mum was ready to move over from England.
